Tenacity Flooring
4 million bottles turned into underlay
The brand
Tenacity is a high-performance hard surface flooring manufacturer, producing wood, laminate and vinyl for the United States and seventy other countries. Innovation and added value are how the company stays where it is.
Industry
Consumer demand for plastic in flooring products was rising, and Tenacity took the view that meeting that demand responsibly meant using recycled plastic rather than virgin.
What we made
NET Plus, an entirely new range of underlays produced as a Tenacity sub-brand from our recycled material. Eleven recycled plastic bottles become one metre, or ten square feet, of NET Plus underlay.
We are seeing more consumer demand for plastic in our products and felt an obligation to do this responsibly by using recycled plastics with Waste2Wear.
Tom van Poyer
CEO, CFL Flooring and Tenacity
Four million plastic bottles have become underflooring. The underlays are best in class for mould and fungus resistance, achieving Grade 0 under ASTM G21-15, the highest grade in the industry, and they offer excellent sound absorption.
