Traceability and Smart Seals

Every product we make is tracked from the point where plastic waste is collected through to the moment it reaches you, with a verifiable record at every step.

A Transparent Supply Chain

For every order, we design a dedicated supply chain that maps each stage of production, from waste collection and processing to yarn, fabric, and finished goods.

All suppliers are pre-approved and regularly verified to meet strict environmental and operational standards. Each step is recorded, creating a continuous and reliable record of material flow and transformation.

How we track every step

We combine physical controls with digital tracking to follow recycled materials from their origin as plastic waste through to the finished product. Every stage is recorded and the complete record is available to your team at any point.

Smart Seals: Securing Every Step

Smart Seals are uniquely identified physical seals applied to materials at each stage of production and transport. At every step, suppliers scan the seal to confirm receipt, processing and transfer of materials, creating a secure and unbroken record of material flow from one stage to the next.

From Waste to Product

Our traceability system follows the full journey of recycled materials, from plastic waste to finished textile products. Each transformation step is documented, ensuring that the origin and integrity of the materials are maintained throughout the process.

Before final delivery, Waste2Wear reviews and validates the complete production chain, confirming that all requirements have been met.

Verified Information

Through our system, customers gain access to:

  • The origin and journey of recycled materials
  • A clear overview of the supply chain
  • Verified supplier participation and certifications
  • Documented production steps from waste to product

Selected information can also be shared with end consumers through product labels, offering transparency without compromising sensitive data.

FAQ

Have any questions?

We believe transparency shouldn’t be complicated. Below, we’ve answered the most common questions about our recycling process, how we verify our supply chain, and what makes our materials different.

How does rPET compare to virgin polyester?

From a performance standpoint, rPET behaves the same as virgin polyester. It offers the same durability, dyeability and moisture-wicking properties. The difference is entirely in the source material — rPET starts as 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles rather than new raw materials, using 70% less energy, 86% less water and 75% less CO2 in the process.

What certifications do your fabrics carry?

Our fabrics are produced under GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certification. All of our factories are certified to BSCI, GOTS and RDS standards. In addition, every product can be tested using our patent-pending RA3 method, which gives you a precise recycled content percentage. Third-party lab verification is available on request.

Can I get custom colours and weights?

Yes. We work with your product team to match fabric weight, hand feel and colour to your requirements. If you have specific technical specifications, we can discuss those during the sampling process.

How does traceability work on the finished product?

Every product comes with a QR code that connects the end user to the full supply chain story, from where the plastic was collected to how it was processed and manufactured. That information is recorded on blockchain, making it tamper-proof and permanently accessible.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Minimum order quantities vary depending on the fabric type and application. Contact us directly and we can discuss what works for your production volume.
